We have three bathrooms — is a combi boiler the right choice?
Often not. A combi heats water on demand from the mains, so once two showers run at once the flow has to be shared. In larger Ecclesall houses a system boiler with a properly sized unvented cylinder usually gives a much better result. We will look at your incoming mains flow and how the household actually uses hot water before recommending anything.
The top floor of our house never gets properly warm — why?
In a tall period house it is usually balancing rather than a fault. Radiators nearest the boiler take the heat first, and by the time water reaches the top floor there is little left to give. Correct balancing, the right pump setting and sometimes a rethink of pipe sizing fixes most cases — a sludged system may also need flushing.
Can you work in a period property without damaging original features?
That is normally the main concern here. We use non-invasive leak detection wherever possible so we are lifting as few boards as we can, plan pipe routes to avoid cutting into original plasterwork and cornicing, and agree anything that will be visible with you before it is done.
Do you fit high-spec bathrooms and en-suites?
Yes. We handle the full job — first fix, the pressure and drainage side that decides whether a big shower actually performs, and the finish. If the design you want will not work on your existing water pressure, we will tell you at the survey rather than after the tiles are on.
