Boiler repair & replacement
Servicing, breakdown repairs and replacements, including boilers serving individual flats within a converted house.
Heat365 are Gas Safe registered plumbers and heating engineers working across Nether Edge and the S7 postcode. Much of the area is a conservation area of large Victorian and Edwardian villas, and plenty of those houses have since been divided into flats — which makes for some of the most involved plumbing and heating work in Sheffield. Call us 24/7.
Nether Edge lies roughly two miles south-west of Sheffield city centre, and much of it falls within the Nether Edge conservation area — wide tree-lined streets of substantial Victorian and Edwardian villas, bay-fronted terraces and red-brick semis, running out towards Brincliffe, Sharrow and Abbeydale.
A large number of those bigger houses have been subdivided over the years into flats, bedsits and shared houses, and that is what makes the plumbing here different. It is common to find one property carrying two or three separate heating systems of different ages, hot water routed through pipework that was never designed for the layout it now serves, stopcocks and meters in awkward shared spaces, and a mix of original and much newer pipe running side by side in the same wall.
We are used to working carefully in period property. That means keeping disruption to original features, cornicing, panelling and floorboards to the absolute minimum, using non-invasive leak detection wherever we can, and thinking about how a system serves the whole building rather than just the flat with the problem. Every gas job is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and we will always explain what we have found before we start.

Internal plumbing and heating work generally is not what conservation controls are aimed at — they are mainly concerned with the external appearance of a building. Where a job does have an outside element, though, such as the position of a boiler flue, an external condensate pipe or an outdoor unit, that can matter. We will point out anything that is visible from the street early on so you can check with the council before we order parts, rather than after.
Yes, and it is one of the more common jobs we get in Nether Edge. We trace the runs, work out which valve isolates which flat, and label them so the next problem does not mean turning the whole building off. It is worth doing before there is an emergency rather than during one.
We start with non-invasive detection so we are not opening up ceilings and walls on a guess. Water can travel a surprising distance along a joist or a pipe run before it shows, so the wet patch is often nowhere near the fault. Once we have located it we will tell you clearly what needs opening up and where.
Usually yes, but the answer depends on the drainage route and the mains flow reaching the top floor rather than on the room itself. We will check both before promising anything. In some period houses the sensible answer involves changing how hot water is generated as well, and we would rather talk that through at the start than halfway through the job.
