Getting tired heating systems working properly again
Conisbrough sits beside the River Don roughly midway between Doncaster and Rotherham, where the A6023 meets the A630. The Norman castle is the landmark, and St Peter's Church is thought to be the oldest building in South Yorkshire. The town grew with industry — Kilner opened a glassworks here in 1863 — and with the collieries at Denaby Main and Cadeby next door. In the older parts of town, terraced streets still frame views up to the castle.
Next door in Denaby Main, the colliery village's terraced streets were demolished after the pits closed and replaced with modern semi-detached homes on an open-plan layout. Between those rebuilt homes and the older terraces in Conisbrough itself, many heating systems in the area will have been through a boiler replacement or two, with radiators, valves and controls often left in place from earlier. That is where the common problems come from: radiators that take an age to warm up, sludge in the system, controls that are well out of date, and older boilers that break down more often each winter.
We deal with it properly rather than piecemeal — cleaning the system, replacing what has worn out, and upgrading controls so the heating does what you ask of it. Every gas job is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and we explain what we have found before we start.
