Commercial and domestic plumbing across east Sheffield
Attercliffe lies in the lower Don valley, east of Sheffield city centre, with the River Don running along its north-west edge and the Tinsley Canal to the south-east. Those two waterways are the reason the area sat at the heart of Sheffield's steel industry — raw materials came in by water and finished goods went out the same way. That industrial character has not gone away: Sheffield Forgemasters still operates in the area, and much of S9 remains given over to workshops, warehousing, trade counters and business units, mixed in with terraced streets and a good deal of rented housing.
That means the plumbing here is not all domestic. We work on commercial and light-industrial premises as well as homes — larger-diameter pipework, plant rooms, commercial boilers and hot water plant, washroom and welfare facilities, and the kind of drainage that takes a hammering in a working building. We also do a lot of landlord and letting-agent work, keeping rented properties safe and compliant with annual gas safety checks and prompt tenant callouts.
The domestic side is still very much there too. Terraced housing in and around Attercliffe brings the usual older-property issues — tired boilers, blocked drains and leaks — and we handle those the same way we handle a plant room: turn up when we say we will, diagnose properly, and explain what needs doing before we do it. Downtime costs a business money, so for commercial customers we work to fix first time wherever it is possible.
