Boiler repair & replacement
Servicing, breakdown repairs and full replacements, including conversions on older systems.
Heat365 are Gas Safe registered plumbers and heating engineers covering Aston, Aughton, Swallownest and the S26 area. Few places in the borough hold such a wide spread of property ages — Domesday village cores, early-1900s mining-era rows and estates built since 2005 — and each end of that range needs something completely different from a heating engineer. Call us 24/7.
The parish of Aston cum Aughton, on the southern side of the Rotherham borough, takes in the villages of Aston and Aughton along with Swallownest, and has a population of roughly fifteen thousand. Aston and Aughton were both recorded in the Domesday Book, as "Estone" and "Hactone". Swallownest is far younger — it existed as a separate place from the 1740s and still amounted to only about ten houses in 1840.
The parish has expanded sharply twice. The coal mines brought an influx of workers in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and more recent housing estates have grown it again, with a good deal of Swallownest now made up of modern estate housing built since 2005. Put those together and you can drive a few minutes here and pass period property, mining-era terraces and new build.
We treat them as three different jobs. In the older village property it is system upgrades, hidden leaks and pipework that has been altered repeatedly. In the mining-era rows it is boiler conversions, flue routes and cold radiators. In the newer estates it is annual servicing that keeps a manufacturer warranty valid, pressure loss on sealed systems, fault codes and heating controls. Every gas job is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Yes, for two reasons. A manufacturer warranty on a newer boiler is normally conditional on an annual service carried out and recorded by a Gas Safe registered engineer, so skipping one can cost you the cover. And a service is also a safety check — it is when combustion readings, seals and safety devices get looked at, which does not become relevant only once an appliance is old.
No. A healthy sealed system holds its pressure for long periods. Losing it repeatedly means water is escaping — a weeping radiator valve or joint, a pressure relief valve passing to the outside, or an expansion vessel that has lost its charge. Topping it up each time keeps introducing fresh oxygenated water, which speeds up corrosion inside the system, so it is worth tracing properly.
Mostly that nothing is where the drawings would suggest. Older village property has usually been altered several times — bathrooms added, kitchens moved, pipework rerouted and boxed in by different people over decades. We survey before committing to a route, and use non-invasive leak detection so we open up as little as possible.
Yes. Most modern boilers pair with a range of programmers and smart controls, and on newer systems it is often the quickest genuine improvement available — proper time and temperature control usually does more for comfort than any change of appliance. We will check what your boiler and wiring support before recommending anything.
