Plumbers in Loxley, Sheffield
Heat365 are Gas Safe registered plumbers and heating engineers covering Loxley and the Loxley Valley in S6. Properties out here tend to sit on larger plots with longer service runs, outbuildings to heat and rather more winter exposure than the streets closer in. We are set up for that, and we are on call 24/7.
Plumbing and heating along the Loxley Valley
Loxley is a long, linear community that follows the River Loxley and Loxley Road for roughly two and a half miles, running from its edges with Malin Bridge and Wisewood westward towards Stacey Bank and Damflask Reservoir. It is markedly different in character from the suburbs immediately below it — the valley is green and semi-rural at its western end, with property scattered along the road, on larger plots, and often some distance from the nearest neighbour.
That layout has practical consequences. Water and heating services frequently have a long way to travel, whether that is the incoming supply from the road to a house set well back, or a heating circuit reaching out to a garage, workshop or annexe. Longer runs mean more pipework exposed to the weather, more places for pressure and temperature to be lost along the way, and more to check when something is not performing as it should.
Winter matters more here too. Exposed pipework, outbuildings that are not heated continuously, and condensate pipes taking an outside route all become vulnerable in a cold spell, and a property on its own is a slower place to be without heating or hot water. We cover the valley for repairs, boiler replacement and emergencies, with every gas job carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

“Needed a new boiler installed asap, got in contact with Ricky. Straight away he quoted & fitted me in quickly. The lads stayed for 10 plus hours and returned the next day to ensure I had water and heating. Can't fault the lads at all.”
“Great service, responded quickly and sorted my boiler out so I had heating and hot water back on in this freezing weather. Came out late on a Saturday night to fix. NHS discount too!!”
“Thank you to Rick and the team for fitting our new boiler and radiators. I waited a while before leaving a review, but 6 months down the line it's still working just as good. I would highly recommend.”

Our house sits well back from the road. Could a long supply run explain poor flow?
It can contribute. A long incoming supply, particularly if it is an older or narrow pipe, loses pressure and flow along its length before it ever reaches the house. We measure the flow and pressure at the point it enters the property and again at the outlets, which shows whether the problem is the incoming supply, the internal pipework or the appliance itself — and stops money being spent on the wrong one.
Can you heat an outbuilding, garage workshop or annexe from the main house system?
Often, yes, provided the existing boiler has the capacity to take the extra load and the run can be properly insulated. The two things we look at first are whether the boiler and the rest of the system can serve the additional space without leaving the house colder, and how the connecting pipework can be routed and protected. Where extending the main system is not sensible, we will say so and set out the alternatives.
We are not sure our property is on the mains gas network. What happens then?
Some properties towards the edges of the valley may not be connected to the main gas network, so it is worth establishing that before anything else. If yours is on mains gas, everything we do for a gas-heated home applies as normal. If it is not, we are honest about the limits of what we cover — we will still handle your plumbing, hot water, radiators, leaks and drainage, and we will tell you plainly where a job falls outside what we do rather than taking it on regardless.
What can be done before winter to stop pipework freezing in an outbuilding?
The usual measures are insulating exposed pipe properly along its whole length rather than in patches, making sure any condensate pipe outside is the right diameter and lagged or re-routed internally where it can be, keeping unheated spaces above freezing where that is practical, and knowing where the isolation points are before you need them. We can walk the property with you and point out the vulnerable spots.
Do you really come out as far as Stacey Bank, Damflask and Low Bradfield?
Yes. We cover the valley right out to Stacey Bank, Damflask and Low Bradfield, as well as Stannington, Worrall and the rest of the S6 area. If you are further out and want to check before booking, give us a ring and we will tell you honestly.
