Plumbing and heating in a suburb that lives beside the River Don
Bentley lies about two miles north of Doncaster city centre on the River Don, with the Ea Beck to the north. It grew as a mining village — Bentley Colliery closed in December 1993 and its site is now Bentley Community Woodland — and it takes in the West End, the New Village and Rostholme, alongside neighbouring Arksey, Toll Bar and Scawthorpe.
Water is the thing people here know about. Bentley and Toll Bar were badly affected by the floods of June 2007, when the Bentley Ings pumping station failed, and during the November 2019 floods residents were asked to leave their homes. So as well as the everyday boiler and plumbing work we do anywhere, a lot of what matters in Bentley is where things are — how close the boiler, controls and pipework are to the ground floor — and what happens after water has been in: gas appliances that must not be used until they have been checked, heating systems that need recommissioning, and drains that need clearing.
We handle both sides of it — routine repairs, servicing and replacements, and the practical work of getting a home's heating and plumbing safe and working again. Every gas job is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
